Peopleware: a review

 

Engineers and quality: When engineers develop a product, their sense of minimal quality standards will be set to the highest quality they have achieved in their career. This is because a strong emotion, people's self-worth, is generally tied to the products they develop and release.

It's important to recognize, as a manager, how much importance a developer has put into the project they are sharing or releasing and approach feedback carefully. On the flipside, as an engineer, one must realize that what she believes is the minimal standard or MVP is most likely not. 

The average software product has 2-3 bugs for every 200 lines of code. So yea, quality is not the biggest gateway for creating a successful customer product.
